Invisalign®
Invisalign® is a system of straightening teeth that uses clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth similar to a mouth guard. Dr. Weikum used to use the Invisalign® system, but has begun using a system of aligners made by ClearCorrect. These aligners are clear, removable and comfortable. They are great alternative to braces for adults and teenagers.
Advantages of ClearCorrect aligners:
- Aligners can be used to invisibly straighten teeth without braces in many situations.
- A series of aligners is needed to straighten your teeth. Each aligner moves the teeth a small amount until your smile is straight.
- Aligners have been used for years and have been shown to be effective in clinical research and practices across the country.
- Each set of aligners is usually worn for 2 weeks. You should wear them 24 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss.
- As you place the next aligner you will be moving your teeth a little more until eventually your smile will be straight.
- With aligners you usually need to visit my office only once every 6 weeks to determine that the aligners are working the way they should.
- Treatment time will vary, often from 9-15 months, and the average number of aligners will vary from 18-30.
